Rabbits
Vaccinations:
There are two diseases that your rabbit can be vaccinated against:
• Viral Haemarrhagic Disease (VHD)
• Myxomatosis
These diseases can affect all rabbits, including house rabbits, as they can be spread by biting insects e.g. midges and mosquitos, and carried in on vegetation e.g. dandelions etc. There is no treatment for either disease and both are invariably fatal. VHD requires a yearly vaccination, but Myxomatosis vaccine protection only lasts for 6 moths so needs to be given two injections a year.
