Avian and Exotics
Avian and exotic animals do not readily show signs of disease. By the time they appear 'ill' they are often quite sick and disease may have progressed quite far, making it important to seek veterinary care as soon as you see a problem.
Compared to cats and dogs we get little information from a clinical examination, so we rely on diagnostics (X-ray, blood samples, endoscopy, etc.) to assess their state of health/investigate a problem.
A lot of problems can be caused by husbandry issues (diet/temperature/lighting, etc) particularly with reptiles.
We offer a wide range of services for your exotic pets including (but not exclusively):
• Routine health checks for your avian & exotic pets
• Routine break and trimming
• Specialist hospitalisation facilities, including climate controlled vivaria for reptiles
• Pre-purchase advice and post purchase health checks
• Routine rabbit dental treatment
• Specialised surgical, anaesthetic and rigid video endoscopic equipment
For more information call the practice, or check out the links on our "Useful Info" pages.
We work closely with Birdline UK, the national charity parrot rescue organisation.
